Canadian
singer-songwriter Catherine Taddo brings her experiences,
passion and voice to her music. After repeated moves as a
youngster at age 11 she found a home playing guitar and has
been playing and writing songs ever since.
Taddo released her first EP in 2001, and subsequently her
first full length album. The newest release "This Way"
is a compilation of 10 tracks, and has been selected by CBC
radio for distribution to all of its music libraries across
Canada. The album was also nominated for Best Engineering
at the 2006 Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards (NOMFA).
CBC has most recently compared Catherine's unique musical
style to that of Norah Jones. Taddo is inspired by artists
such as Susan Tedeschi who helped her reach deep into her
heart to connect with her own soulful voice. Her unique vocal
stylings put together with Catherine's direct and conversational
songwriting style, are set to impress.
Taddo graduated from civil engineering at Lakehead University
in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, in 1997 and has since received
her professional engineering licence. She didn't leave her
music behind however, and has continued to hone her craft.
In 1997 and 1998 Taddo toured North America and Europe as
a guitarist in a major musical production. Taddo is now pursuing
her own musical stylings and continues to impress audiences
across Canada.
Now
residing in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Taddo has appeared
at several major Canadian festivals. Community First Bank
selected the title track from This Way as their theme song
for commerical use. Stations such as 99.5 YES FM, and 97.7
FM The Bear out of Michigan, released the commercial into
rotation. The commercial consequently has also garnered air
time in the Algoma Region, in Canada. Catherine's music has
received airplay across Canada, and has also reached top 10
airplay on University radio.
